East Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (aka Cordell Cemetery) is located four miles east and two miles south of Watonga, Blaine County, Lincoln Township, Oklahoma on Highway 33. By GPS it can be located with latitude 354842N and longitude 982051W. When this survey was taken the cemetery appeared to be fairly maintained. The base ground of this cemetery is sand and with the Oklahoma winds, this sand has a tendency to bunch and build around stones, thus covering some stones.
Several rose bushes have been planted near family stones and have long since overgrown the stones near where they were planted. Maintenance is needed on this location and hopefully will be taken care of soon. There are a few different stones that are bare with no markings or the markings are polished away from blowing sand, and there is no indication as to whom may have been buried there, research is still continuing to determine whom may rest there.
