Services for Velma Alfred, 75, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Reaper Baptist Church; Rev. Ricky McGee and Rev. Ronnie Amous will officiate. Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Ms. Alfred passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, at her home. She was born July 5, 1949, in Konawa to Raymond and Doretha Brunner Jefferson.
Velma worked at Flex-N-Gate until her retirement in 2021. She loved her work family and all the fun memories that they shared. Her favorite pastime was tending to her flowers and always referred to it as “Playing in the Dirt”. She loved hanging out with the family, laughing, talking and reminiscing. She had a heart of gold and was loved by many. She will be forever missed.
Survivors include her fiancé, Leroy Miller; son, Alonzo Albert of Ada; two daughters, Bridgette Stellburg and husband Gary of Ada and Sheila Jefferson of Ada; brother, Olain Jefferson of Wichita, KS; five sisters, Melissa Clark of Ada, Viola Simmons of Konawa, Wilma Mills of Ada, Rosetta Simmons and husband Barnett of Chicago, IL, and Eulanda Jefferson of Konawa; two grandchildren, Dionté Albert and Camille and Bryson Albert; and three great grandchildren, Kyson Albert, Ashlyn Albert, and Brynlee Albert.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Otis Jefferson.
