© Cheyenne Star

Submitted by: Wanda Purcell

Kenneth "Preach" Robertson was born February 21, 1917 on a farm south of Rhea, Oklahoma to William H. and Nola Robertson, and he departed this life on October 19, 2005.
Kenneth attended Rhea School. During his grade school years, Kenneth played the part of a preacher in a school play, and his uncle gave him the nick name "Preach".
On January 23, 1944 he married Geraldine Kauk in the First Baptist Church parsonage of Leedey. They were blessed with three daughters, Peggy, Sue, and Brenda. Kenneth and Geraldine raised their daughters on their farm south of Rheda. The entire family was involved in the farming and ranch operation.
Kenneth's love for the land began as a child when he helped with the farming and livestock. He continued farming throughout his life on the same farm that has been in the family for almost 100 years.
Kenneth loved hunting quail, playing dominoes, and watching all sporting events. He also loved teaching his grandchildren to drive, how to fish, and hunt.
He especially enjoyed watching the Leedey Bison play basketball, baseball, and softball. He seldom missed a game until his health prevented him from attending.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; his parents, W. H. and Nola Robertson; his brothers, Floyd, Claude, and Adrian Robetrtson; and his son-in-law, Nolan S. Horrell.
He is survived by his three daughters, Peggy Horrell, Sue Harris and Brenda Robertson; son-in-law Wally Harris; grandchildren, Jason Harris and wife Brenda; Jennifer McCulley and husband Mark; Gina Johnson and husband Steve; Kenneth Horrell and wife Catrina; and Traci Harris; seven great grandchildren; sister, Lorene Kauk; and sisters-in-law, Audrey Robertson, Ruth Robertson, Doris Robertson Rhoades and Margaret Nichols; brothers-in-law, Junior Kauk and wife Patty; Allen Kauk and wife Roberta; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kenneth will be greatly missed, but his kind and gentle nature and quick wit will be remembered always in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Services were Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the First Baptist church in Leedey, Oklahoma under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey.
