Richard "Dick" Gene Gillespie
February 8, 1955 ~ June 5, 2019

Richard "Dick" Gene Gillespie, 64, of Longtown, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in McAlester. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Palestine Cemetery north of Quinton. Burial will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Weiher, Jerry Weiher, Ty Weiher, Matt Weiher, Dustin Weiher, Kenneth Weiher, and Sheena Weiher. Dick was born on February 8, 1955 in Ponca City to Richard B. and Lois Jean (Engleman) Gillespie. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970. Dick joined the U.S. Army and served in Desert Storm. He married Deborah Suzette Weiher. He owned and operated Longtown Citgo convenience store for five years, and then worked as a blocker-bracer at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant before retiring. Dick enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Beverly Gillespie, and father-in-law: Jerry R. Weiher He is survived by his wife: Deb; sons: Chris Kupiec, Brandon Gillespie, all of the home; mother-in-law: Virginia Weiher; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
