Wilma June Tucker, 86 of Kiowa, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday September 25, 2023, in Kiowa, Oklahoma. A visitation will be Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Northside Assembly of God, 3602 North George Nigh Expressway in McAlester. Linda Snider will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester, Oklahoma under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Active pallbearers will be Colton Ray, Dylan Ray, Daniel Tucker, Case Watkins, Cody Dan Watkins, Cody Ray, and Kenton Wester. Wilma was born on June 13, 1937, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Burl and Weltha Maddux. Wilma was a proud graduate of Haileyville High School, class of 1955. After graduation she married Thomas Tucker on May 15, 1955 in Kiowa, Oklahoma. Wilma was a homemaker before she embarked on a career journey that began in 1976 at Komar & Sons in McAlester, where she worked as a seam proof for seven years. She then transitioned to the Kiowa School District in 1983, where she served as a Cafe Lunchroom Manager until her retirement in 2001. Her dedication and hard work were admired by all who knew her. Wilma was a woman of many interests. She was a devout churchgoer who cherished spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading, shopping, and sewing. A fan of television game shows, she often spent her evenings watching her favorite programs and playing word search games. Wilma also had a flair for fashion and always made sure her nails were perfectly done. Wilma is survived by her sons, Kevin Tucker and his wife, Colleen of Fresno, California, and Christopher Tucker and his wife, Charlotte of McAlester, Oklahoma; her daughters, Marnie Kimmons and her husband, Roy of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Janet Tucker of Kiowa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her sisters, Norma Standerfer of Arkansas City, and Anna Miser of Desoto, Texas. Sisters-in-law: Stella Vest of Kiowa, and Sarah Rager and her husband, Jack of Los Angeles, California; her brother-in-law, Leeroy Tucker and his wife, Janie of Oklahoma City; a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents: Burl and Weltha (Ennis) Maddux; son: Randy Tucker; her husband of 68 years: Thomas Matthew Tucker on February 8th of 2023; her brothers: Calvin Maddux, Bedford Maddux, Dale Maddux, and Wayne Maddux; her sisters: Effie Smith, and Imogene Mass. Wilma was a faith-filled woman who lived her life with a spirited and loving heart. Her unwavering faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and spirit will live on.
