Elsie Marie (Whitworth) Smith, 92, of High Hill, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her residence. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at High Hill Baptist Church officiated by Joe Randazzo. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Smith, Will Tucker, Harvey Tucker, and Terry Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Petricek and Bryan Whitworth. Elsie Marie was born to John Thomas and Jewell (Merideth) Whitworth on February 19, 1929 in High Hill. She graduated from Haileyville High School. She married Melvin Merle Smith in 1947 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Elsie worked as a seamstress for Komar and Elsings. She also worked in Sterile Processing Department at McAlester Regional Health Center. Elsie then worked in production at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant until retiring. She was a member of High Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching QVC, HSN and soap operas. Elsie served as the election board High Hill precinct clerk for over 10 years. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents: John Thomas and Jewell Whitworth, an infant daughter: Melva Jean Smith, son: Merle Thomas Smith, and a brother: J.T. Whitworth. She is survived by her daughter: Pamela Kay Tucker of High Hill; grandsons: Chris Smith and wife, Tiffany of Jenks, Will Tucker and wife, Rachel of Bixby, Cody Smith of Sapulpa; great-grandchildren: Carrington Smith, Jaxon Smith, Nolan Harvey Tucker, Karson Smith; sister: Carol Petricek and husband, Dick of Skiatook; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
