Viola Richison, 88, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the McAlester Regional Health Center. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester, Oklahoma. The burial will follow. Pallbearers will be: Jason Wadley, Brian Buckner, Jeff Wilson, Brad Wilson, Ted Konsure, and Kane Konsure. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Loyd Wadley, Mike Buckner, and Ryan Larue. Viola was born on March 14, 1933 in Haywood, Oklahoma to James Russell Wingo and Pearlie Beatrice (Dunn) Wingo. She married James Wilson on September 25, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1964. Viola married Billy Joe Richison on May 1, 1979. He preceded her in death in 2007. Viola was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in McAlester. Viola is also preceded in death by her parents: James Russell Wingo and Pearlie Beatrice (Dunn) Wingo; her grandson: Tanner Wilson; her great granddaughter: Emmie Nolan; two sisters: Bernice Minyard, and Sue Bowling; and one brother: Charles Wingo. She is survived by her five children: Karen Wadley and husband, Loyd, Linda Buckner and husband, Mike, Rick Wilson and wife, Cindy, Darrell Wilson and wife, Donna, and Jim Wilson and wife, Jerrylynn; her grandchildren: Jason Wadley and wife, Paige, Kristina Konsure and husband, Ted, Brian Buckner and wife, Tory, Jessi Nolan and husband, Jason, Heather Horn, Jeff Wilson and wife, Amy, Brad Wilson, and Brandi Coffman and husband, Mike; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; her two sisters: Shirley Tollett and husband, Richard, Rita Elms and husband, Stanley; her brothers: Artie Wingo and wife, Carol, Bobby Wingo, Sr. and wife, Betty, and Jimmy Wingo and wife, Gayla; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
