Juanita (Armstrong) McClellan, 88, of McAlester, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at a local nursing center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be LB Owens, Brent Owens, Ryan Owens, Kevin Parker, Kyle Phillips and Dennis Nelms. Honorary pallbearers will be Toy Wingo and Bill Cox. Juanita was born on November 11, 1935 in Hanna, Oklahoma to Charlie and Cordia (Cox) Armstrong. She married Rev. Bill McClellan on December 5, 1952 in McAlester. She was a member of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Randy McClellan; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah “Jan” and Philip Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Karen Armstrong; grandchildren, Chris Phillips, Jeremiah Phillips, Heather and husband, Dennis Nelms; great-grandchildren, Kade Phillips, Kyle Phillips and Heaven Phillips; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Mary Wingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill McClellan; parents, Charlie and Cora Armstrong; sisters, Oma Walters and Sylvia Duke.
