Mary Ruth (Savage) Lindley, 98, of Tulsa, died Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Tulsa. Viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday as well as from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery officiated by her son, Jack Lindley. Burial will follow. Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Mary Ruth was born to Martin Turner and Virgie Mae (Hatridge) Savage on May 17, 1923 in McAlester. Mary was raised in McAlester at the Savage Dairy Farm that her parents operated. She graduated from McAlester High School. She married Jack Lindley on December 6, 1946 in Sherman, Texas. Together they owned and operated Holiday Inn's in McAlester, Henryetta, Muskogee, and Shawnee until retiring in 2004. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Martin and Virgie Savage; husband: Jack Lindley on September 16, 2007; grandsons: Preston Lindley in 2015 and Justin Lindley in 2018; and brothers: Adrian Savage, Guy Savage, and Jack Savage. She is survived by her sons: Jack Randall Lindley of Tulsa, Larry Joe Lindley of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Gavin Lindley, Layne Lindley, Laura Lindley, Sheridan Lindley, Cole Lindley; great-grandchildren: Johnathon Lindley, Paul Lindley, Leah Lindley, and Grayson Lindley; sisters: Virginia Care of Tulsa, Rebecca Adams of Seattle, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
