Farris Wayne Jones, 90, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 in McAlester. Viewing will be Noon to 6:00 pm. Sunday November 5, 2023 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 at Bishop Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Chip Lott. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, McAlester. Pallbearers will be, Rev. Ryan Young, Darrell Miller, Troyce Tolson, Roger Timmons, Eddie Clark, Curtis Baker, Cameron Green and Allen Sensibaugh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Childrens Home, 3800 N. May Ave. Oklahoma City, OK 73122 or Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 429 S. 9th St. McAlester, OK 74501. Farris was born to Buster and Euna Dell (Trammell) Jones on December 18, 1932 in Ashland. He attended schools in Ashland and California and graduated from Haileyville High School. He served in the U.S. Army and then in the U.S. Army Reserves for many years. He married Jennievie Maxine Stone September 29, 1972 in McAlester. Farris worked for Dr. Pepper Bottling Co., Carnation and Meadow Gold before working for 24 years as a delivery driver for Wonder Bread. After retiring in 1994, he enjoyed driving an activity bus for McAlester Schools. Farris was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Modern Woodman of America. He and Jennievie traveled on several bus tours, Farris not so much wanting to go, but being a trooper, he went and enjoyed them all. Farris was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Euna Jones; wife of 48 years, Jennievie Jones; daughters, Kimberly Martin, Sharon Bratten; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Terry Johnston and husband, Shorty; grandchildren, Brandon Chambers, Candace Bratten, Alax Bratten, Zachary Bratten, Terra Conde, Victoria Martin, Joseph Mattingly; three great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Reba Sue Miller, Pat (Stone) Tolson and husband, Troyce, Dottie Stone; several nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.Linda Ann Yates, 74, of McAlester, died October 7th, 2023 at her residence after a long battle with cancer. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10th at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11th, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Kenny Morrow. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Tyler Blasengame, Dalton Dalpoas, Justin Pierce, Kaleb Wagoner, Zac Doyle, and Josh Yates. Honorary pallbearers are Tracy Choate, Mike Smith, Rick Weiher, and Eran Ranallo.
