Carrie was born on April 25,1973 in Edmond, Ok to Hoyt Edward Hughes and Carrie Lou Hughes. She graduated high school at Crowder, Ok in 1991. Carrie had retired from the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in May of 2015 after 20 years of service. She went on to work at Carl Albert Mental Health Center in McAlester until June of 2020. She needed to be able to concentrate on her battle with cancer. Carrie was happily married to Kelly Hughes, on November 7, 2015 who has been her partner and true love in life for almost 22 years. Carrie was a devoted spouse to Kelly and parent to her girls. She had a very special relationship to grandson Noah Day and thought he hung the moon! She enjoyed traveling, camping, ATV riding and spending time with her friends and family. Carrie was nicknamed the "Mayor" many years ago by Lana because of her happy social skills. She never met a stranger, and she would do anything for a friend in need. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends that loved and knew her.
