Upon returning to civilian life, Thomas found employment as a maintenance worked at the Holiday Inn in McAlester. For over two decades he was a familiar and friendly face to both staff and guests. In his quieter moments Thomas could be found reading the newspaper cover to cover and playing solitaire. He often joked he was one of the world's best solitaire players. His absence will be deeply felt by the many lives he touched, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide us.
