Submitted by: Carol Rice

Pamela Lee Henley, 68, of McAlester, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at her home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Rob Lungstrum officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pam was born on March 31, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio to Leroy and Joyce D. (Thompson) Henley. She recently retired after 35 years of federal service primarily working as a Resource Analyst for McAlester Army Ammunition Plant and Defense Ammunition Center. The last seven years she spent working as a Logistics Management Specialist (HAZMAT Instructor.) Teaching soldiers as a HAZMAT instructor gave her great pride and a sense of patriotism. This allowed her the opportunity to travel the world, including Japan, South Korea, Hawaii, Alaska, and all the U.S. She was happiest when spending time with her granddaughters. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and traveling with her family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the North “A” Church of Christ. After a long history of breast cancer in the family, she followed in her mother's and sister's footsteps and was a fighter and warrior till the end. Her biggest worry through all her struggles was helping to find a cure for her family and future generations. Survivors include her children and spouses, Kevin Connor and wife, Elizabeth of McAlester, OK, Kellye (Connor) Semeski and husband, Jason of McAlester, OK; two granddaughters, Kynlee Semeski and Izabella Connor; sister, Dorita Henley of Clearwater, FL. One niece Kaitlyn (Soblaskey) Sink, and three nephews Marty Soblaskey, Tyler Soblaskey, and Billy Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Henley and Joyce Thompson Henley. Her sister Tanya (Henley) Soblaskey and brother-in-law Josh Soblaskey. Active pallbearers are Billy Wheeler, Shannon Brooks, Ralph Junior “Juno” Thompson, Dennis Cathey, Tom Baxter, and David Brewer. Honorary Pallbearers are Walter Battles, Tyler Soblaskey, members of North A Church of Christ, and the McAlester Buffaloes graduating class of 1973.
