Jesse Charles Daniels, 78, of McAlester, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at his home in McAlester. A memorial service for Jesse will be held on Wednesday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Haven Baptist Church in Krebs with Pastor Jason Dunn officiating. Honorary pallbearers are D. R. Jensen, Mike Reed, Terry Beck, Jim Rice and Ronnie Smith. Jesse Daniels was born on Sept. 19, 1941 in Mesa Arizona to Jess Daniels and Alva Venita (Ross) Daniels. Jesse's father died when Jesse was just a baby, and his mother remarried Art Gregson, who, along with Jesse’s mother, raised Jesse, and was the only father he ever knew. Jesse has lived in this area virtually all his life. Jesse was a true cowboy, working all his life on area ranches. He loved horses and enjoyed working with leather. Jesse is survived by his spouse and best friend, Barbara Daniels; his children, Pam Thomas and Mike, James Daniels and Debbie, Franklin McDonald and Jennifer, Deanna Dornan and Jerry; 8 grandchildren, Seth and Cole Thomas, Cassie, Kirsten and Kyle Daniels, Pamela Marquez, Mike Spence and Winston Dornan; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie Shannon and John; numerous great grandchildren; and a special niece and nephew, Geneva Miller and Jimmy Pingleton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jesse D. Daniels; and granddaughter, Elayna Daniels; a brother, Turner Daniels; and the mother of his children, Jeannette McDonald.
