Joy Kirkpatrick Brown, 65, of McAlester, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Bishop Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Wingo, Toy Wingo, Leroy Connor, Bob Smith, David Bailey, and Terry Lenox. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. Joy was born on March 3, 1956 in McAlester to C.T. Kirkpatrick and Josephine (McIntosh) Kirkpatrick. She married Bill "Bugsy" Brown on December 30, 2005. She is survived by her husband: Bill "Bugsy" Brown; her daughter: Amanda Craymer and husband, Robert of Mississippi; her son: Daniel Johnson of Texas; her stepson: Billy Brown and wife, Jean of Krebs; her grandchildren: Casey Craymer, Carli Craymer, Jessie Brown and wife, Alicia, and Ebony Villa and husband, Anthony; her great-grandchildren: Alaina Powell, Mia Villa, Aspen Brown, and Josse Brown; her brother: Leonard George Kirkpatrick; her friend: Pat Prater; and her church family. Joy is preceded in death by her parents: C.T. Kirkpatrick and Josephine (McIntosh) Kirkpatrick, her siblings: Richard Lumbert and Jerry Kirkpatrick, and her nephew: Kyle Kirkpatrick.
