Bill Ray Brown, 75, of McAlester, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, at his home, with his loving family at his side. The family will greet friends for visitation on Monday, Dec. 30, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel, with Jaime Kirkpatrick and Josh Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers are Walt Timmons, David Brown, Chris Brown, Josh Timmons, Tyler Meyer, Colby Youngblood, and Terry Trammell. Honorary pallbearers are Nathaniel Bueno, Austin Shoemaker, Tyler McDavid, Mike Haskins, Mike Nohelty, and Richard Bowen. Bill Brown was born on Jan. 8, 1949 in London, Kentucky to Bill Brown and Anna Mae (Witt) Brown-Norman. He has lived in McAlester for the past 47 years. He married Lillian (Lierer) Brown on Sept. 24, 1980, and they have made their home in McAlester since then. Bill worked at Spirit Aerosystems as a machinist for 39 years, before retiring 4 years ago. In his spare-time, Bill liked to go hunting and fishing, and especially liked riding his Harley. In his younger years, he loved driving race cars, on a dirt track or drag racing. He also liked working on all his vehicles. Bill was a long-time member of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. Bill is survived by his wife, Lillian Brown; his children, Denise Timmons and husband Walt, Yvonne Trammell and husband Terry, David Brown and wife Rhonda, and Chris Brown and partner Deidra Ford; 18 grandchildren, Josh Timmons, Kami Timmons, Kimberly Meyer, Tyler Meyer, Mario Bueno, Briana Youngblood, Colby Youngblood, Devon Guzman, Richard Guzman, Lacey Brown, Austin Shoemaker, Zoiey Brown, Lexxus Brown, Meghan McDaniel, Tyler McDaniel, Jack Roberts, Akaysha Wolf, and Sunny Ford; and 14 great grandchildren, Kolben Timmons, Emersyn Timmons, Kennedi Mayer, Blakely Meyer, Karsyn Meyer, Raine Youngblood, Elias Youngblood, MacKenzie Shoemaker, Benjamin Shoemaker, Paisley Shoemaker, Harley Shoemaker, Kaia Crone, Arayah Stacey, and Kahlil Ford. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Brown and Ann Norman; step-father, William Norman; a son, Bill Brown, Jr.; and siblings, Judy McFarland, Ralph Brown, Betty MacNamee, Angie Oakley, Brenda Schimpf; and nephews, Brian McFarland and Joey Oakley.
