She also developed a love for quilting and crocheting. Ernie was always very strong and healthy. Other than a baby aspirin and multivitamin, the only medication she took was for her low thyroid. Ernie was a very strong believer in Jesus. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Krebs, a member of the Centenarian Club of Oklahoma, and regularly attended the Stipe Senior Center. Ernie was a world traveler, taking many steps around the globe. She got her first passport at the age of 82, and then traveled to 57 countries as well as most of the states in the United States, with her daughter Wilma. After being married for 59 1/2 years and then being widowed for 17 years, she married Charles Allison on her 93rd birthday. She had a little over 10 wonderful years with Charles lovingly by her side.
