Ben Shirley Sweetin, 81, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at a local nursing center. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Pittsburg Cemetery with Dee Jr. Wood officiating. Burial will follow. Ben Shirley Sweetin was born on June 4, 1938 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma to Ben Virgil and Freda Francine (Christman) Sweetin. He married Mary EunaBell Tisdale on October 28, 1958 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He enjoyed fishing with his grandkids and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl and Jimmy Wood, Mary Bell Sweetin and Sandy McLennan; eight grandchildren, Melissa Wood, Kimberly Barron, Christopher McLennan, Caleb McLennan, Kala McLennan, Ashley Sweetin, Cody Bill McMillan and Samantha McMillan; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jane Nyre, Sena Shields, Freda and Rick McKinney; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Patsy Sweetin, Bill and Alice Sweetin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary EunaBell Sweetin; his parents; two sisters, Faye Newton and Mae Stiles and a niece, Thresa Shields. Active pallbearers will be John Shannon, Larry Luman, Ben Pierce, Louie Barron, Joe Sullivan and Jimmy Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Cody McMillan, Christopher McLennan and Caleb McLennan, and his great-grandsons, Ethan Barron, Trenton Nolan and Lane Pollock.
