Jimmie Leon Williams, 82, of Marlow, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Meridian Nursing Home, Comanche, Oklahoma. Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home, McAlester. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home with Donnie Leon Williams officiating and eulogy by Elizabeth Thornburg. The burial will follow at Blanco Cemetery, Blanco, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Clayton Rice, Rodney Rice, Patrick Richardson, Ricky Shawn Kennedy, Donnie Leon Williams, and Mason Haynes. Jimmie was born on February 17, 1940 in Clarksville, Texas to Travis L. Williams and Pauline (Provence) Williams. He married Janet Willie on July 21, 1981 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Jimmie grew up in Texas and attended Odessa High School. He was drafted on April 1, 1963 to the United States Army and was honorably discharged on April 3, 1965. Jimmie worked all of his life in the oil field for several different oil companies. Jimmie retired in 1999 from Marathon Oil Company. As a child he learned to play guitar, he enjoyed picking and grinning and entertaining his family and friends. Playing music was an important aspect of Jimmies life. Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents: Travis and Pauline Williams; his niece: Brenda Chantel Willie; his sister-in-law: Tonya Faye Willie; and his aunt: Pansy Harrison He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Janet (Willie) Williams; his daughter: Seresa Arndt and husband, Scott; his son: Jamie Williams and wife, Kelly; 8 grandchildren; his sisters: Linda Sue Edmondson and husband, Eddie, Gwen Lee and husband, Ricky, and Sharon Williams; his brothers: Donnie Ray Williams and wife, Linda, and Michael Williams and wife, Mollie; two aunts: Betty "Maxine" Grissom, and Bonnie Stringer; mother-in-law: Alta Willie sisters-in-law, Debbie Rice and husband, Ronnie, Susan Richardson and husband, Steve, Kay Willie, Billie Willie; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Jimmies family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Meridian Nursing Home and Kindful Hospice staff for their considerate and compassionate care of Jimmie in his final days
