Dirk Deyon Sweetin, 67 of Blanco, died Friday, October 20, 2023 in McAlester. Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2023 at Blanco Cemetery Pavilion with masonic rites. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be, Tyler McCoy, Cameron McCoy, Luke McCoy, Joe Sullivan, Alan Robinson, Rick Griffin and Kevin Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be former co-workers of Pittsburg County District #2, Tim McIntire and Goober Smith. Dirk was born to Samuel Duerd and Faye Dean (Patton) Sweetin on October 25, 1955 in McAlester. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1973. Dirk was a welder and truck driver. He retired from Pittsburg County district 2 in 2019. He married Christina Eberle on July 18, 2014 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Dirk enjoyed the outdoors and visiting with family and friends. He has been a member of the Staples Masonic Lodge #117 in Kiowa since May 7th, 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Duerd Sweetin and Faye Dean (Patton) Sweetin. Dirk is survived by his wife, Christina "Chrissy" Sweetin of the home; daughters, Wendy Kay Singleton, Debralee Blanco, Leah Blanco; sons, James Sweetin and partner, Stormy Cole, Wacey Nowlin, Austin Eberle; grandchildren, Cameron McCoy, Luke McCoy and wife, Allyah, Tyler McCoy and wife, Hannah; great grandchildren, William McCoy, Noah McCoy, Lincoln McCoy, Kennedy McCoy, Lace McCoy, Emery McCoy and Chisolm McCoy; sister, Sonia McCants and husband, Bob; brother, Samuel D. Sweetin and wife, Sue; sister-in-law, Margie Eastteam and husband, James; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
