Stella Ruth (Kanimaya) Joplin formally of Blanco, Oklahoma died Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 79. She was born September 22, 1936 in Blanco to James and Alice (Tucker) Kanimaya. Stella worked for Wrangler Jean Manufacturing prior to retirement and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going out to eat and traveling with friends from the Choctaw Nation to Branson, Missouri. She is survived by her sons, Kelly Joplin and wife Karrie of Seminole and Marty Joplin and wife Debbie of Wewoka, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dusty Joplin and wife Alice of Elgin, Oklahoma, Stormy Gribble and husband Shawn of Edmond, Oklahoma, Logan Joplin of Seminole, Shelby Steele and husband Jason of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Jessie Joplin of Seminole; great grandchildren, Graclyn Joplin, Zadyn Joplin, Joplyn Gribble, Baker Gribble and Case Steele; a sister, Ola Mae Hatridge of McAlester, Oklahoma; a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Alice Kanimaya; brothers, Carl Kanimaya, James "Junior" Kanimaya and Bobby Kanimaya; sisters, Augusta Ashworth and Geneva Thomason. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel in McAlester, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Blanco Cemetery in Blanco, Oklahoma.
