Lillian Lorene (Garner) Ervin, 86, of McAlester, died Sunday, July 18, 2021 in McAlester. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Minister Randell Reeder. Burial will follow at Arpelar Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Ervin, Bruce Brooks, Eugene Arpelar, and Wayne Tohkubbi. Lillian Lorene was born to Hack and Willie (Arpelar) Garner on September 22, 1934 in Pittsburg County. She was raised in McAlester. Lillian married James Leroy Ervin in Reno, Nevada. She worked for Henson-Kickernick Plant in McAlester. She retired from Simmons Foods in February of 2012. She was an avid Bible reader and, when she was able, attended the Church of Christ. Lillian was preceded in death by her father: Hack Garner, mother: Willie (Arpelar) Stormes, stepfather: Melvin Stormes, her husband: James Leroy Ervin, an infant son: James William Ervin, and sons: Johnny Lee Ervin and James Allen Ervin. She is survived by her son: Bobby Ervin of McAlester; daughters: Kathy Ervin of Louisiana, Josephine Carol Rode of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren: Carol Lynn, Erica, Adwina, Val, Tosha; other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; uncle: Eugene Arpelar and wife, Jan; cousins: Bobbie Brooks and Bruce Brooks; her best friend that she considered her daughter: Loretta Tohkubbi and husband, Wayne; a special friend: Kella Bush and husband, Kevin; and numerous other cousins, family members, and friends.
