Betty Sue [Gibson] Floyd

Betty Sue Floyd, retired Assistant Vice President, Stillwater National Bank, passed away on Monday evening, April 23, 2007 in Stillwater, at the age of 84 years.

The daughter of the late Acy Gibson and Martha Merritt Gibson, Betty was born on July 28, 1922 in Adair, OK and was reared and educated in Adair, graduating from Adair High School, later attending Oklahoma State University.

She was united in marriage to John Leroy Floyd on October 12, 1941 in Stillwater and to this union three sons, Dennis, John Michael and Kenneth were born. John preceded her in death on November 8, 2003.

Betty started to work for the Bank in 1966, retiring in 1987 as an assistant vice president.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and participating in the family functions.

Surviving include two sons, Dennis Floyd and his wife Diane of Evergreen, CO and Kenneth Floyd of the home; one sister Geneva Eby of Adair, OK; two grandchildren, Kirt Floyd of Evergreen, CO and Tana Mitchell and her husband Mark of McKinney, TX; two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Madison Mitchell; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, John Michael and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Roach, Associate Pastor, officiating.

Burial follow in the Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery.
