Rosemary (Gaines) Solomon

Mrs. Rosemary (Gaines) Solomon, 69, wife of Lawrence O. "Larry" Solomon and resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010, in Choctaw. Funeral services for Mrs. Solomon will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, in the Barnsdall First Baptist Church (on Birch Lake Rd., Barnsdall, Oklahoma). The officiant will be Rev. William "Bill" Gibson. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Ethel Reece Cemetery, Barnsdall, by The Arnold Moore-Barnsdall Funeral Home. Mrs. Solomon will lie in state in Bartlesville where a register book will be available for those who wish to stop by to pay their respects. The casket will remain closed prior to the service, but will be open at the church.

Rosemary Gaines was born June 17, 1940, in Talala, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Harry Lawrence Gaines and Edna Madelene (Boan) Gaines. She was reared in the Barnsdall community where she attended and was a member of the Barnsdall High School Class of 1957. Rosemary and Lawrence O. Solomon were united in marriage on July 9, 1958. Mr. Solomon was enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1958, where he was a machinist. He was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving 20 years. Rosemary and Lawrence lived in Pocatello, Idaho from 1978 to 1981. From 1981 to 1994, Mr. Solomon worked for OG&E until his retirement. Rosemary was a homemaker. In 1998, the Solomons moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma where he worked for Tinker Air force Base and was again retired in 2005. The Solomons were members of the Life Line Missionary Baptist Church in Midwest City.

Survivors are her husband, Lawrence, of the Choctaw home; sons, Larry E. Solomon, Choctaw, and Leland L. Solomon, Midwest City; daughters, Nonna K. Solomon, Madill, Oklahoma, and Sonja S. Cammer, Cottageville, South Carolina; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.; 6 brothers; and 5 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and sister, Joyce Silky.
