William Wallace McLean, 76, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, October 09, 2019.

William was born July 2, 1943 in Fort Rucker, Alabama, to parents Bruce Malcom and Lola Grace (Smedley) McLean. He graduated from Killeen High School in Killeen, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Psychology and Secondary Education from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas.

William served in the Peace Corp from 1965 to 1967.

He worked as a school teacher and basketball coach for 13 years. He then worked for McDonalds Restaurants for 15 years and also at our local Braums Ice Cream and Dairy Stores.

William married Juanita Carol (Parrish) on August 24, 1968 and the couple celebrated their 51st anniversary this year.

His greatest accomplishment was that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior 1967. He also traveled the world as a military “brat”.

He loved collecting stamps; singing bass in the Bartlesville Choral Society; fishing and was a church song leader and a relief minister at two small Texas towns.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Lola McLean of Nowata; only younger brother Bruce Michael McLean; infant son Keith McLean and youngest daughter Kelley Elaine McLean.

William is survived by his wife Carol, of the home; oldest daughter Karen Monroe and husband Dave of Bartlesville; daughter Renee McLean of Prague, Czech Republic; and son Greg McLean, of the home; grandchildren Chad Cox, Benjamin South, Jacob South, Lane South, Sonya and Melisa McLean; numerous cousins including Jo Ellen Roe of Pawnee, Oklahoma and many others.

The family will receive guests Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm at Stumpff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10am at Adams Blvd Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hope Harbor Children’s Home in Claremore, Oklahoma; Alzheimer’s Association; “In Search of the Lords Way” or a charity of your choice.
