Henry David Alford, 59, of Nowata, Oklahoma, died Thursday, October 15, 2020.

Henry was born February 17, 1961, in Nowata, to parents Verdie David and Velma A. (Chambers) Alford. He went to Nowata High School and graduated in 1980. He also did attend some college. Henry was self-employed in maintenance and worked for the Nowata Hays House and Hindman Properties. He loved playing pool, fishing, playing softball and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and OU! He was known in Nowata for being a DJ. He did this for over 30 years and loved every minute of it! He also loved spending time with his family and friends and having cookouts.

Henry was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters Betty Kirkendoll and Mary Hubbard; brothers Nathaniel Alford and Willie Alford and paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his son Michael Doye of Nowata; daughter Sophia Clarkson of Bartlesville; siblings Tealla Phillips of Oklahoma City, Velma DeSillva and husband Edward of McKinney, Texas, Gracie L. Tilmon and husband David of Taylors, South Carolina, Cordell Alford of Honea Path, South Carolina and Harlene Alford and wife Carrie of Nowata and 21 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19 from 11am to 6pm at Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.

The family will then receive guests from 6pm to 8pm, also at Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be on Tuesday, October 20 at 10am at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
