Juanita Woods, age 86 of Wayne, passed away Wednesday September 14, 2016, at the Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Shawnee. Juanita Cavnar was born April 8, 1930 in Purcell, OK, 1 of 10 children born to James Thomas and Nora (Skaggs) Cavnar. She was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell Schools, graduating in 1947. On October 4, 1948 in Wayne, Juanita married her best friend and the love of her life, James L. Woods. They made their home in Purcell for a brief time, followed by a short time in Midwest City, before settling in Woodward. Juanita stayed at home to take care of their children, son Larry and daughters, Karen and Leisa. In 1969, they returned back home to Wayne and settled on the family homestead. Juanita loved spending time outdoors. She was a great cook and remembered especially for her cakes and pies. She cherished her family and especially her grandchildren. She looked forward to family gatherings. She was a caregiver to many and the absolute best hostess. She had a gift of making you feel like family. Juanita was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Maysville. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, James L. Woods; Infant son, Gary James Woods; Her parents, James and Nora Cavnar; Sister, Wanda Barnes; 4 brothers, James, Elmo, Leo Kenneth and Edgar Cavnar and Daughter-in-law, Marcia Woods.

Juanita leaves behind: Son, Dr. Larry Woods and Anne of Edmond; Daughters, Karen Lenaburg and husband Dr. Gary of Tecumseh and Leisa Davis and husband TJ of Edmond; Brother, Willis Gene Cavnar of Newalla; 3 sisters, Theo Mayo and husband David of Midwest City, Shirley Teal Jones of Ada and Francis Bragg of Tahlequah; 7 grandchildren, Kelly Woods, Casey Woods and wife Sarah, Dr. Dirk Lenaburg, Dr. Trace Lenaburg and wife Dr. Kimberlee, Paige Pine and husband Jeremiah, Cole Davis and Wade Davis; 2 great grandchildren, Samuel Garrett and Goldie Gail Woods, And a host of other family and friends.

A Reception for the family will be held at 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the Maysville First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
