In the late 1890's, the Love Family of Purcell presented land to the City for a cemetery. It became Hillside Cemetery. At that time, it was considered way out in the country.
Hillside Cemetery is located south of Purcell on Hwy 39 West, .06 of a mile west of Green Avenue, on the south side of the highway. It is well maintained and is very pretty as it is located on a hillside and overlooks a lake to the south.

The City of Purcell has placed a computer at the cemetery to help in locating the gravesites. It is located in the Maintenance building. There is a large wall map that shows the lot number locations and several of the roads are named to help in navigating the cemetery.
We would like to thank the City of Purcell for providing their cemetery listing to us and answering all our questions.
