Joan Todd age 77, of Purcell, OK. went home to be with her Lord and Savior, early Saturday morning, May 8, 2021 at her home.
Robbie Joan Todd was born September 18, 1943 in Sharon, Tennessee. She was the middle daughter of three born to Jody Lee Danner and Virgil Modell (Taylor) Danner. Joan grew up in Sharon, TN and graduated from Sharon High School with the class of 1959. She later attended one year of Business college. Joan married the love of her life, William Dan Todd on April 18, 1962, in Sharon, TN., and together they raised two children, Greg and Susie.
Because of Dan’s work, they lived in Tennessee for many years, Florida for 13 years, back to Tennessee 23 years and after Dan retired, they moved to Purcell, OK in 2014, to be close to their daughter and her family.
While living in Tennessee, Joan worked as a secretary in the Court Clerk’s office at the Weakly County Court House. And while living in Florida she worked as a secretary in the Lee County Court House.
Throughout her life, Joan loved cooking from scratch, crocheting, sewing, reading and working outdoors in her flower gardens. She was a faithful Christian and for many years taught Sunday School at McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers, Florida. After moving to Purcell, she was an active member of the Purcell First Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife and this past April, she and Dan celebrated 59 years of marriage. She was a loving mother and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Modell Danner.
She is survived by:
Husband, Dan Todd of the home in Purcell.
Son, Greg Todd and wife Ashley of Golden, CO.
Daughter, Susie Bridgers and husband Carlie of Purcell.
Two sisters, Maxine Garner of Dresden, TN., Brenda Smith of Jackson, TN.
Three grandchildren, Katie Todd, Callie and Darby Bridgers.
Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 10:00A.M. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Hope Center Ministries”, c/o Purcell First Baptist Church, 400 West Main St., Purcell, OK, 73080. Send online condolences at www.wilsonlittle.com.
