WILSON LITTLE FUNERAL HOME
PURCELL-NEWCASTLE, MCCLAIN CO, OK

Lanor (Cavnar) Standerfer, age 91 of Purcell, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Oklahoma City. Lanor was born June 15, 1923 in Byars, OK, the second of six children. She was raised in Purcell and graduated in 1942. After graduation, she moved to California to work, but soon returned home and began working at the Douglas Defense plant as a “Rosie The Riveter.” While there she met her husband to be and later married on Nov. 9, 1944. They resided in Moore, OK for about 25 years, where they raised their three sons. At retirement they returned to Purcell. After retirement, Lanor worked for the Delta Community Action Foundation Inc. and continued until she retired a second time at the age of 82. She loved donating her time around Christmas to Bell ringing for the Salvation Army. She loved her boys, as she learned from her parents. Mom you were great.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Charles S. Standerfer; Her parents, Delbert Cayce Cavnar and Allie Katherine “June” Harper; Her siblings, Wesley, Minnie Jo Unger, Corkey and Will Rogers Cavnar;

Lanor leaves behind: Her sons, John Standerfer and wife Donna of Norman; Jim Standerfer of Norman and Steve Standerfer and wife Sherry of Keller, TX; Her sister, Ellen Goedecke of Claremore, OK; Sister-in-law, Ernestine Cavnar of Purcell; 2 step-daughters, Suzanne Terry of Clovis, NM, Sandra Graham of Ft. Smith, AR; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
