Dale Eugene Shea age 76 of Midwest City, formerly of Purcell, passed away peacefully Sept. 6, 2016 in Oklahoma City surrounded by his family.

Gene was the 4th child of eight children born to Thomas Lawrence Shea and Katherine Carrie (Turner) Shea. Gene grew up in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School with the class of 1957. He later joined the U. S. Air Force and proudly served his country for eight years. He then re-enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served another 14 years before retiring. While stationed in the Philippines, Gene met and soon married the love of his life, Leticia Frias. Together they raised one daughter, Marlet. During his last eight years in the service, Gene was stationed in Japan. After retiring from the military in 1979 they moved to Midwest City, OK. While living in MWC, Gene started another career and went to work at Veterans Hospital in OKC. He worked there for 25 years before retiring the 2nd time in 2005. Gene lived in MWC for the past 37 years. For the past three months because of his failing health, he moved to OKC to live with his daughter, Marlet. Gene was a faithful and devout Catholic. For the past 30 years he has been a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in MWC. Throughout his life he has enjoyed golfing and watching Golf. He was a diehard Notre Dame and Oklahoma Football fan. He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, watching sports and never missed the News on TV. But most of all Gene enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Katherine and Thomas Shea, Wife, Leticia Shea, Two brothers, Raymond and Patrick Shea;

He is survived by: One daughter, Marlet Cotledge and husband Milo of OKC, Two grandchildren, Craig Teal and wife Fallynn of Killeen, TX. Marc Cotledge of Aluts, OK. Four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Zayden, Jamari and Legend, One brother, Scotty Shea of Purcell, Four sisters, Rita Shea of OKC, Donna Keener of Lexington, Jan Mullins and husband Bud of Purcell, Mary Ann Allee and husband Ray of OKC. And many nieces, nephews,

A Rosary Service will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Our Lady Of Victory Catholic Church in Purcell.

Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Send online condolences @wilsonlittle.com The family would like to thank Valir Hospice for their care and compassion. It was greatly appreciated.
