Funeral services were conducted from Our Lady of Victory church last Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. for Mrs. Alexina Moisant, a resident of Purcell, who passed away last Thursday morning. The Rev. Father Hugo officiated.
Mrs. Moisant was born in Kankakee, Illinois, on February 2, 1866. She spent her early life in that state, moving to Purcell in 1891. Moisant Rites Held Thursday
Resident of Purcell and McClain County 46 Years Succumbs This Week.
Funeral services for John B. Moisant, pioneer Purcell and McClain county resident, were conducted from Our Lady of Victory church here Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock with Father Louis Hugo officiating. Interment was made in Hillside cemetery with the Rackley Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Moisant passed away early Tuesday morning at his home five miles west of Purcell, following an illness of Bright's disease. He was 79 years, five months and 19 days of age. He had been a resident of what is now McClain county for more than 46 years.
During the greater part of that time he was employed by the old Purcell Mill and Elevator company at Purcell. When that firm ceased operating, he moved to the farm and had been engaged in farming the past several years.
In addition to Mrs. Moisant, he is survived by two sons, five daughters and a host of other relatives. They are Bill Moisant of Purcell and Leo Moisant of Blanchard, and Mrs. Albert Lawrence, Salina, Kans., Mrs. Joe Marcott, Mrs. Dolphus Dumas, Mrs. Val Anhalt and Mrs. Frank Anhalt, all of Purcell.
The deceased was born in Kankakee, Ill., and moved to this section in the early days of this county. During his long residence here, he acquired a host of friends, all of whom extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
Grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers at the funeral service.
