Clyde Luvean Lindsey age 94 of Purcell, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Lexington Nursing Home.

He was born July 12, 1922 in Atoka, Oklahoma. His parents were Cecil Lindsey and Lettie (Green) Lindsey. Clyde grew up a country boy and learned how to work hard on the farm, chopping and pulled cotton. As he got older as a teenage he worked cutting railroad ties by hand with an axe. Cutting three ties a day. At the age of 20 he enlisted into the U. S. Navy and proudly served three years overseas during WWII. On November 13, 1945 he was honorably discharged and returned to Atoka, Oklahoma. One month later on December 13, 1945 he married Ethel Lucille Pauline Granger. They were married in Sherman, Texas and later moved to the Maysville area. Clyde and Ethel together raised 10 children. While first living in Maysville they were farmers. Some years later they moved to the Washington area where they milked cows for a living. Then in 1965 they moved to Purcell and Clyde started doing carpentry work. Not long after that he went to work at T. H. Rogers Lumber Company in Purcell, working there until his health forced him to retire in 1984. Throughout his life, Clyde enjoyed fishing with his sons. However his favorite hobby was going to Rooster fights. In his later years Clyde enjoyed staying home, mowing his lawn and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, C.C. and Lettie Lindsey; Wife, Ethel Lindsey in 1994; Daughter, Mary Ann Williams; Brother, Raymond Lindsey; Two granddaughters, Sherri Dyan Williams and Kasandra Marie Lindsey;

He is survived by: Nine children; Five sons and four daughters; Clyde D. Lindsey and wife Lynna of Wanette, OK, Richard Lindsey and wife Pam of Mead, OK, Dennis Lindsey and wife Debra of Purcell, OK, Ronnie Lindsey of Lexington, OK, Eddie Lindsey and wife Pam of OKC, Letha Williams and husband Lloyd of Purcell, Patsy Lindsey of Purcell, Sharon Jett and husband Scott of Velma, Shirley Christian and husband Danny of Washington; 23 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; Two nieces, Jimmie and Luvean; Also many other loving relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Pallbearers will be Nick Jett, Todd Lindsey, Ryan Lindsey, Chad Lindsey, Keith Williams, Greg Lindsey, Jeff McClain. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
