Bunnie Eugene Hottle, age 94 of Purcell, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023.

The middle child of three children, Bunnie was born December 31,1928 in Stratford, OK to Joe Perry Hottel and Nina (Jennings) Hottel. He spent his early years in Stratford where he started school, and his high school years in Okla. City where he attended Capitol Hill High School.

By chance, Bunnie met a young woman from California named Beverly Jane Lockhart. She was visiting her sisters in Okla. City when they met, and the rest as they say is history. Bunnie and Beverly were married on July 1, 1949 in Okla. City. They first made their home in the City, and even spent some time in California, before moving back to Oklahoma for good in 1959. By the late 1970’s, they settled on an acreage near Purcell. Together they raised two sons, Van and Greg. Bunnie worked for Macklanburg-Duncan Building Products for more than 34 years, retiring in 1991. Away from work, he spent most of his time outdoors. And whether it was fishing, hunting, or family lake trips to Lake Tenkiller, Bunnie would make the most of it. In retirement, he was fortunate enough to make several outdoor excursions with his sons, doing all the things he loved most. Bunnie was a family man first; he cherished Beverly and his boys, and was never happier than the day he became a Papa. He leaves a wonderful legacy, and many family traditions that will live forever in their hearts. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joe and Nina Hottel and sister, Virginia Wood.

Bunnie is survived by his sweetheart, Beverly of the home; his boys Van Hottle and wife Candace of Norman and Greg Hottle and wife DeBora of Edmond; Brother Farron Hottel of Purcell; 6 grandchildren, Justin Hottle and wife Beth, Grant Hottle and wife Ashley, Derek Hottle and wife Kelly, Lori Hoover and husband Donnie, Chesley Combs and husband Joshua “Yogi” and Lindsey Hottle; 9 great grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Rachel, Kate, Max, Chloe, Gianna, Evie and Sienna and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. www.wilsonlittle.com
