Lefredia Hobbs age 85 of Purcell, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Norman Regional Hospital. Lefredia Irene Hobbs was born on October 25, 1930 in Hastings, Oklahoma. She was the 4th child of five children born to Rufus Oscar Brown and Callie Otis (Doyle) Brown. Lefredia grew up a farm girl and daughter of a share cropper. She learned how to work hard by working in the cotton fields in S.W. Oklahoma with her brothers and sisters. Lefredia attended three different schools, Hastings, Waurika and Comanche. At the age of 15 she married William Nathan Hobbs Jr. on February 2, 1946 in Lawton, OK, and together they raised seven children. Lefredia worked hard as a wife, mother and homemaker. While her children were growing up, they lived in Harrah, OK while her husband Bill worked at Tinker AFB. After he retired for civil service, Bill became a Baptist Preacher, and they lived in various towns throughout Oklahoma. In 1993 they settled in Purcell to live close to their children and grandchildren. Lefredia was a faithful Christian and example to her family. While living in Purcell, Lefredia had attended several different Baptist churches but felt more at home with her membership at Sunray Baptist Church. Throughout her life, Lefredia enjoyed working in her yard and in her vegetable garden. She was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and was an avid quilter.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Rufus and Callie Brown, Husband, Bill Hobbs, Three brothers, Billy, Pete and Sammy Brown, Two sons, Rickey Gene Hobbs and Ronnie Lee Hobbs, One daughter, Donna Hobbs; Granddaughter, Deborah Correll;

She is survived by: Four children, Two sons, Tony Hobbs of Lynnwood, Washington, John Hobbs and wife Karen of Purcell, Two daughters, Helen LeSuer and husband Bennett of Linton, Indiana, Darlene Hobbs of Purcell; One sister, Cynthia Ann Gilland of Purcell; 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great. Also many nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Sunray Baptist Church in Purcell. Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
