In Loving Memory Of R. C. Edgar

R. C. Edgar, 79, of Pauls Valley, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007.

He was born January 15, 1928 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Bishop Marvin and Jennie Lee Edgar.

R. C. grew up in the Pauls Valley area and married Rosa Mary Akerman in 1948.

He served in the U. S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Pauls Valley most of his life and delivered propane to the community for 38 years where he befriended many of the customers on his route. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine's of Sienna Catholic Church in Pauls Valley.

He kept a farming business with his son for many years and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden at home with his wife.

R. C. is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosa Mary; son, R. C. Gerard and wife, Tina Marie Edgar of Pauls Valley; a daughter Lou Ann LeClair of Midwest City, OK; brother, Marvin Edgar of Pauls Valley and sister, Wanda Edgar Onstott of Alvin, TX; grandchildren, Christina Marie Edgar Sweetman, Racheal Madison Edgar, Jacqueline Nichole, and Jonathan LeClair; great-grandchildren, Emily and Robert Christopher Sweetman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

R. C. Was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Jennie Edgar; brother, Benny Edgar and sisters, Erma Lee Jackson and LaVada Pippen Elkins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 10:00 am at St. Catherine's of Sienna Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Michael Vaught. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Funeral services are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.

A Rosary Prayer Service will be held Monday, February 19, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., in the Stufflebean Chapel of Remembrance at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
