Ella Mae Thompson Dobbs, 90, of Newcastle, died Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at her home. The daughter of Benjamin Franklin Brister and Maude Freda Ruth (Prewitt) Hillman, she was born October 11, 1929 in Foster, Oklahoma.
 

Ella worked as a surgical supply clerk at OU Medical Center and retired in 2002 after 37 years of service. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Cole. She was a very active member of the Newcastle Senior Citizens and was named Senior Citizen of the Month several times. Ella enjoyed playing bingo, board games, cards, and dominoes. She loved traveling, especially to Branson. Ella enjoyed reading western novels and watching western movies. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Jim Wrather; two husbands, Iver Thompson and Gayle Dobbs; one son, Ron Thompson; a granddaughter-in-law, Jacquie Nayphe; one stepsister; and two stepbrothers.
 

Ella is survived by one daughter, Betty Jetty and husband, Bruce, of Newcastle; one son Darrell Thompson and wife, Mary, of Lindsay; her stepchildren, Trudy Berlando and husband, Rich, of Texas, Molly Cook and husband, Kent, of Duncan, Bridget Walker and husband, Virgil, of Snyder, Clint Dobbs and his wife, Jo, of Yukon; seven grandchildren, Brian Nayphe of Moore, Kristal Nayphe of Ada, Patrick Thompson and wife, Crystal, of Blanchard, Darrell T. Thompson of Lindsay, Katherine Thompson of Lindsay, Frank Thompson of Lindsay, and Amy Jameson and husband, Wes, of Yukon; seven great grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends.
 

Viewing for family and friends will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 29, 2020, at the funeral home.

Due to government regulations regarding the COVID 19 Pandemic, a private graveside and burial will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
