Dr. Shirley Anne Paddack Carson went to be with her Savior on January 22, 2023.

Shirley was born to Lloyd Arlie Paddack and Marjorie (Hubbard) Paddack in Alex, Oklahoma October 6, 1936. She was the oldest of four children.

On May 28, 1954, she married the love of her life, Dale Carson. They were married for 67+ years and had two daughters, Dayla Anne Blair and Lolly Taylor.

Shirley was a lifetime educator. She taught Sunday school from the age of 14 to age 79. Shirley was the head basketball and track coach at Moore Jr High and High School, taught elementary grades, earned a doctorate, and later became a professor of early childhood education. She taught for 41 years. She started special children’s services in different churches. Shirley also authored two published books and a workbook for private schools. Shirley’s accomplishments started with being the Valedictorian of her senior class, an All-Stater in Basketball, and playing on the state championship team that went 33-0 at Lindsay. She was one of the top four finalists for teacher of the year for the state of Oklahoma.

Shirley loved to be with her grand and great-grandchildren. She loved to swim, water ski, and travel internationally.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dr. Ronald Paddack, and her husband, Dale Carson.

Surviving family includes a sister, Marilyn Kay Gage, and a brother James Paddack and his wife, Sharon; sister-in-law, Hwa Yun Paddack; two daughters, Dayla Anne Blair and husband Steve and Lolly Taylor and husband Eddie. She has five grandchildren; Kyle Carson Blair and his wife Alecia; Toby Ray Blair and his wife Sarah; Brooke Taylor McDonald and husband Jacob; Jordan Lynn Taylor and Halle Grace Taylor. Great-grandchildren include; Landry, Carson, Henry, Kallan and William Blair, Londyn Taylor, and Fitz McDonald. Shirley has two nieces, Marjorie Mobley and Katy Dearman, and two nephews, Arlie Paddack and Ellis Paddack, whom she adored.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 27, 2023, at Little’s Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. www.wilsonlittle.com.
