Lawrence Carothers, age 91 of Oklahoma City, passed away November 29, 2018, at the OU Medical Center in Okla. City.

Lawrence was born December 8, 1926 in Fletcher, OK, the younger of two children born to Claude and Ruby (Hamilton) Carothers. Lawrence spent most of his younger days working on ranches in the Altus/Lawton area. He learned the value of hard work by building fences and whatever needed to be done. He finished school at Ozark near Altus. It was here that he met a young lady that change his life forever. Lawrence later married his sweetheart; his best friend and life partner, Miss Imogene Joyce Woodall.   During this time, Lawrence answered the call to serve his country, and joined the United States Army. Not too long after, he was deployed. Lawrence served his country proudly during World War II, and was stationed in Korea. After the war, he returned home to Oklahoma, and he and Imogene made their home in Del City. Together they raised two daughters, Joyce and Larrie. Lawrence worked for Lane Wells for a time and later managed the CA Russell Steel Co. He then decided to start his own business, and in 1975, he and Imogene started their company, LaCar Tube, and they owned and operated it until retirement. When not working, you would find Lawrence in his garage. He loved working with wood. He was very crafty and inventive and could build or refurnish anything. He was kind and patient and a man of great faith. Lawrence cherished Imogene and his girls and was a wonderful Papa. He will be dearly missed!
