Ronny was born January 2, 1944, in Hollis, Oklahoma. He was the younger of two children born to Alfred Dixon Argo Jr. and Mary Louise (Longley) Argo. Ronny grew up in Purcell and graduated from Purcell High School with the class of 1962. During his senior year he was voted as Mr. School Spirit. He played football, basketball and baseball. His classmates remember him for his witty personality and his great sense of humor. In 1964, he and several of his friends joined the U.S. Army and he proudly served his country for four years before being honorably discharged.

Ronny married the love of his life, Linda Kristine Green on September 15, 1988 in Purcell.

He also was a movie buff and loved collecting photos of famous actors and singers. During football season, he loved to entertain friends at his home, for he was the life of the party.
