Glenda Irene "Sis" Harris Elmore

September 22, 1924 ~ February 28, 2008

Services for Glenda Irene "Sis" (Harris) Elmore, 83, of Frederick, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, in the Gray Gish Funeral Home Chapel, Frederick, with David Ridenour of Frederick Church of Christ officiating. Interment was held at 3 p.m. in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon. Born September 22, 1924 at Enville, the daughter of Alvis Madison and Hattie Rudine Watson Harris, she died Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Memorial Hospital, Frederick. She attended school at Enville and graduated from Marietta High School in 1941. She and Orville Frank Elmore were married March 20, 1942 in Madill. In 1946, they moved to Davidson, where she was a homemaker and oftentimes worked alongside her husband in the fields. Mrs. Elmore was a member of the Busy Bees Club at Davidson. In 1968, she and her husband moved to Frederick. She was a member of the Frederick Church of Christ. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sheila Elmore of Oakland; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Payne and Val Lozano of Frederick; two daughters-in-law, Norma Jean Elmore of Frederick and Caroline Elmore of Eastland, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Orville Elmore on October 31, 2006; two sons, Ronnie and Frank Elmore; and a brother, Billy Harris. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon Cemetery, Box 70, Lebanon, OK 73440.
