Joyce Ann(Ware) Doolin

Services were held Saturday August 12, 2017 for Joyce Ann Ware Doolin at the St Paul Baptist Church in Meridian, Ok.

She departed this life on August 7, 2017 in Oklahoma City, Ok at the age of 76

Joyce was born to the late Odess and Hazel Parrish Ware on September 19, 1940 in Meridian, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Guthrie High School and Langston University where she earned her BA in Elementary Education in 1964.

Leaving Oklahoma, Joyce and her husband R.A. Doolin moved to Evanston, Illinois where they raised two children Kenneth Dwayne and Devra Lynn. Joyce retired from the Chicago Public School District in 2005 and later returned to Oklahoma in 2013 to spend time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children Kenneth Dwayne Doolin (Chicago, IL,) and Devra Lynn Doolin (Hamden, Connecticut); Preceded in death by her parents Odess and Hazel Parrish Ware, a sister Sarah Ware Hathorn; brothers-in-law, Vernon L. Rider and Opio Toure

Joyce was a long-time member of St Paul Baptist Church of Meridian. She enjoyed gardening and being involved with the 4th Sunday Family Dinner.

Joyce leaves behind many family and friends who love and will miss her each day.
