She transferred to Oklahoma A & M and graduated from Stillwater, Oklahoma, with a bachelor’s degree in Vocational Home Economics. She played clarinet throughout her school years in Hollis and in college in marching band and several different concert bands and was a member of Glee Club. She participated in various activities during her college years, but was proud that she had lettered in archery. She was also proud to have had photography under the direction of Dr. Haskell Pruett who was a long-time friend and fellow Mangum High School graduate of her mother. “Doc” Pruett remained a close friend of the family throughout his lifetime.

Barbara married Andrew Franklin Hardin on August 30, 1949, at the Methodist Church in Hollis. Eva Mae was a professional photographer and Barbara was happy that her sister was able to preserve many happy memories in film during her lifetime. Barbara later married Henry Arlon Williamson, Jr., in 1958.
Barbara taught elementary and secondary school in both Texas and Oklahoma. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.

During the early sixties, Barbara was co-organizer and co-leader of America Legion Auxiliary Juniors along with friend, Jill Smith. During the seventies and eighties Barbara worked for Harmon County Department of Social Services. She began there and worked with county residents to teach various uses of the commodities in their diet.

Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church of many years. She was active in Sunday School and sang alto as a member of the choir. She was a long time member of the Hollis Riding Club, an activity that the family enjoyed. Another family activity was square dancing. She was also a long time member of American Legion Auxiliary along with her mom. Barbara also enjoyed fishing and china painting. She volunteered as a member of the Band Buddies for many years helping raise funds to buy instruments for HHS Band. Barbara donated to the Red Cross for many years and proudly displayed her 10 gallon donation certificate.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Jess Bryant, of Hollis, Oklahoma, her brother, Phillip Barclay Bryant of Houston, Texas, her sister Eva Mae Bryant Capone, of El Paso, Texas and her son-in-law, Gerald Perkins, of Pahrump, Nevada.
