Marvin Edward White went to be with his Heavenly Father March 20, 2015.

Marvin was born in Fanin County, Texas to John William and Mittie Lena White on December 2, 1921. He moved to Harmon County, Oklahoma in 1927. Marvin attended Opal and Elm Valley Schools. He grew up on the farm with two sisters and three brothers. Marvin helped his father with the farming and showed an interest in working with electronics and working with wood. In 1945 he moved to Hollis, Oklahoma along with his parents and remained at home to help take care of them. In 1953 the family moved to 622 North Fifth Street where Marvin established White’s TV and Radio Repair Shop that he owned and operated until his illness in 2010. He loved music and played the guitar and sang with the Sunshine Band and several other local groups through the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Charley, Frank, Roy, Elmer, and Homer White; and three sisters, Minnie, Eula, and Rommie.

Marvin is survived by four nephews, Jackie Leroy and Dewitt Talmage Harrell of Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, Walter and C.R. Carpenter of Waldron, Arkansas; and six nieces, Retha Lavern Heffner, Selma Louise Knarr of Birdsborro, Pennsylvania, Verla Brumley of Vernon, Texas, Colene Hays of Headrick, Oklahoma, Jaunita Bates of Rockport, Texas, and Kathy Karnes of Levelland, Texas.

Funeral services for Marvin Edward White will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis, Oklahoma with Joe Cantu officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis. Services are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
