Tillie F. Long, age 83, of Hollis, passed away Thursday evening, May 22, 2014, at Harmon Memorial Hospital, in Hollis. Mrs. Long was born in Hollis, Oklahoma on January 5, 1931, to William O. and Frankie (Shields) Horton. Attending Arnett School, Tillie graduated as valedictorian of her class, in 1949. On February 26, 1950, she married the love of her life, Odis Neal Long, and they spent the next fifty-one years together before his death on October 14, 2001. After establishing their first home, in Hollis, Tillie was a homemaker for many years until she began working as a teacher’s aide for Hollis Schools. She later began working as the assistant county treasurer for Harmon County and was later elected Treasurer for Harmon County, retiring in 1997. A longtime member of the Church of Christ, Tillie enjoyed taking care of her pecan trees and tending to her flowers, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of and being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; twin daughters, Elizabeth and Elaine; two sisters, Minnie Lee Corbitt and Rudene Nelson; two brothers, J.R. Horton and Wylie Horton and a sister-in-law, Jo Ella Gee.

She is survived by four children, Frankie Long and wife Donette of Hollis, Lonnie Long and wife Renee of Altus, Brad Long and wife Mary of Harrah, Oklahoma and Marcy Sessions and husband Jon of Wellington, Texas; seven grandchildren, Steven Long and wife Amy of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Shelby Long and wife Holly of Hollis, Landon Long of Alexandria, Virginia, Jackson Long of Altus, Yury Rouba and wife Heather of Edmond, Reed Sessions of Wellington and Riley Sessions of Wellington; six great grandchildren, Marek Long, Keetin Long, Ayden Long, Iliana Rouba, Oliver Rouba and Estelle Rouba; one sister, Tennie Pritchard and husband Jerry of Shamrock, Texas; one brother, William Horton and wife Billie of Shawnee, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Larry Long and wife Linda of Elk City and Gary Long and wife Linda of Blanchard along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Tillie Long will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Hollis Church of Christ with Tommy Middlebrook officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis. The family will greet friends at Harmon County Funeral Home on Monday, May 26, 2014, from 6 until 7 p.m.
