Ona Inez Lewis, age 88 of Hollis, passed away early Sunday morning, August 12, 2012, at Colonial Manor Nursing Center, in Hollis, Mrs. Lewis was born, in Hollis, on June 17, 1924, to Oscar and Artie (Hames) Green. Inez attended school at Dodson, Texas, Arnett and La Casa before moving to Hollis. At the age of sixteen, she married Arnice (A.D.) Lewis on June 30, 1940, and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1994, after fifty-four wonderful years of marriage. In May of 1962, Inez was in a tragic vehicle accident and their only child, Ronnie, was killed and she was severely injured. A long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene, Inez was a homemaker all of her life, who loved cleaning her home and taking care of her family.

Preceded in death by her parents; her son; her husband; two sisters, Willie Jones and Viola Moates and one brother James Green.

She is survived by two nieces, Elaine Woods and husband Kenneth of Hollis and Dianna Branigan and husband Gary of Arlington, Texas along with several other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Inez Lewis will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Dodson, Texas Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Al Mixon and Christopher Branigan officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
