Michael Lynn Hubanks, age 44, of Hollis, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at his residence, in Hollis. Michael was born on May 13, 1966, in Hollis to George and Joyce (Wood) Hubanks. A life long resident of Hollis, Michael graduated from Hollis High School in 1984, and later attended Dodge City Community College on a football scholarship. After an injury sidelined his college career, Michael returned to Hollis where he worked in the cattle industry. In 1996, he married Debra Henderson and after living a short time in Dallas, they moved back to Hollis. Fishing and hunting were two things that Michael enjoyed in life, but spending time with friends and family was what he enjoyed most of all.

Survivors include his parents, George and Joyce Hubanks of Hollis; two sons, Mason Hubanks of Allen, Oklahoma and Justin Henderson of Argyle, Texas; one daughter, Mackenzie Anderson of Duke, Oklahoma; one brother, Patrick Hubanks and wife Angie of Hollis; one sister, Delene Hubanks of Hollis; his beloved grandmother, Inez Wood of Hollis; aunts and uncles, Preston Wood of Amarillo, Texas, Frances and Shelton Bennefield of Hollis, Ray and Sherry Wood, Syble and Randy Sanderson of Gould, Kenneth and Melissa Wood of Hollis, Dana and Eddie Thompkins of Dodson, Texas, Debra Wood of Hollis, Mark and Tammy Wood of Hollis, Margie McAlpine of San Antonio, Texas, Judith Nation of Oklahoma City, Terry and Barbara Hubanks of Hollis; a special friend and fishing buddy, Kevin Mills of Hollis along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Della Hubanks and A.L. Wood.

Graveside services for Michael Hubanks will be at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Fairmount Cemetery, with Chris Carlisle officiating.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Harmon County Funeral Home with Chris Carlisle officiating. Online tributes may be made to the family at www.HarmonCountyFuneral.com
