Jo Ann Hawkins, 74, of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Jo Ann was born August 1, 1939 to Orbie and Bessie (Murcheson) Martin in Athens, Texas. She attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas and was baptized at the age of nine. She married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Hawkins on November 2, 1957 in Ennis, Texas. They moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma for Bob to attend College. After Bob’s graduation they moved to Frederick, then to Hollis in 1966. Jo Ann worked at the Hollis branch of Kellwood Sewing Factory from 1976 until its closing in 1977. She worked as an EMT for the Harmon County Ambulance Service and after retiring she became a housewife who enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and canning. Jo Ann and Bob will be remembered for their Christmas yard display that was a tradition in Hollis for many years.

Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Robert (Bob) Hawkins in 2005; her parents; two daughters, Katrina Bogle in 2010 and Toni Hawkins in 2012; one brother, Lee Roy Martin; one sister, Jeanette Stewart; and one brother-in-law; Larry Stewart.

Jo Ann is survived by one daughter, Tracy Myers of Hollis; one son-in-law, Terry Bogle of Hollis; one granddaughter, Tayler Myers of Hollis; three grandsons, Jacob Bogle, Robert Bogle and wife Jaime, and Tucker Myers all of Hollis; two great grandsons, Braxton and Kalvin of Hollis, OK; one brother, Carl Martin and wife Gloria of Humble, Texas; one sister-in-law, Doris Hawkins of Purcell, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Jo Ann Hawkins will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Hollis, Oklahoma with John Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis, Oklahoma.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Harmon County Funeral Home.
