Harmon County Funeral Home

Carl James Firpo, age 78, of Hollis, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 9, 2012, at his home in Hollis.

Mr. Firpo was born in San Francisco, California, on October 23, 1933, to Louis and Betty (Deleo) Firpo. After his graduation from high school, Carl worked for several years at Fuller Paint Factory and later opened his own sheet metal business. On May 1, 1971, he married the love of his life, Rita Richardson, and they spent the next forty-one wonderful years together before his death. Moving to Hollis, in 1977, he again opened a sheet metal business and also spent many years with the Hollis Police Department and the Harmon County Sheriff’s Department. After his retirement, Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, deer hunting on occasions and his daily trips to feed the deer.

Preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Rita, of the home; two sons, Mike Firpo and wife Denise of Clovis, California and Gregg Firpo of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Kiley Firpo, Dillon Firpo and Geneva Firpo; one sister, Angie Heinzle of Oregon; two brothers, Lou Firpo of Belmont, California and Leonard Firpo of Washington along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
 
Funeral services for Carl Firpo will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Hollis First Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Sampler officiating.

Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.


The family will greet friends at Harmon County Funeral Home on Thursday, October 11, 2012, from 5 until 6 p.m.
