Joe Don DeBusk, Sr., age 48, of Hollis, passed away Thursday evening, February 29, 2012, at Harmon Memorial Hospital. Joe was born on December 4, 1963, in Floyd County, Texas to Ira Joe and Ethyl (Hubbard) DeBusk. Moving to Slayton, Texas as a small child, Joe graduated from Southland High School, in Slayton, and later moved to Lubbock, to work in an automotive store. On December 4, 1992, he married the love of his life, Sandy Ortiz, and they moved back to Slayton in 1993. In 1996, they moved to New Braunfels, Texas where Joe worked for New Braunfels Smokers. In 2008, they moved to Hollis where he lived until his death. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed working with model trains and raising chickens.

Preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Sandy of the home, in Hollis; five children, Betty Vallejo and husband Robert of Hollis, Casey DeBusk of Hollis, Robert DeBusk of Hollis, Joe Don Debusk, Jr., of Lubbock and Michael DeBusk of New Mexico; two grandchildren, Alizia Vallejo and Sierra Vallejo; four sisters, Nelda Alexander of Abilene, Ashely Hubbard of Abilene, Joetta Cline of Lexington, Oklahoma and Trena Bryant of Springdale, Arkansas; one brother Marvin DeBusk of Abilene along with many cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Joe DeBusk will be at 4 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at Harmon County Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Cantu officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home.
